Hi,
My laptop is Lenovo ThinkPad Twist, model 33473QC with 4GB mem, OS openSUSE Leap 42.1 (x86_64) 64-bit. But now, the info below is showed:
total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 2526768 2286008 240760 183296 876 1206052 -/+ buffers/cache: 1079080 1447688 Swap: 2103292 0 2103292
Who can tell me what happened to my mem? Thank you.
Run memory test should be on the install disk menu. Run over night
On a note book the swap should be about the same as memory if you are going to hibernate.
What does the BIOS say it is?
Part of address space below 4G is used to access PCI cards; it depends on specific system/BIOS how much space is reserved. Memory that overlaps this space is not accessible. Some BIOSes offer option to remap this memory above 4G.
Yes and also graphic chips may be using at least some on notebooks though probably would not account on the amount you are missing
