What do you mean with the “PackegeUpdater”?
When you mean the applet that is shown in some DEs, then that has nothing to do with YaST. When you do not need it (and I assume you do not need it when you let YaST/zypper automaticaly run), then configure it to stop, or remove it (or remove PackgeKit).
Removed ‘PackgeKit’ and run
and select '**weekly**'.
However the updating is running daily:O.
What am I doing wrong?
I asked:
What do you mean with the “PackegeUpdater”?
and then assumed an answer on which I based further adivice.
But you did not answer the question or confirmed that my assumption was correct.
Please always answer questions. It is already difficult enough to discuss computer problems without looking over shoulders. Thus uncertainties must be avoided and advice based on assumptions may be very wrong.
When you really uninstalled PackaKit (you post no prove of that), it can of course not be PackageKit that does this
YaST Onlne Update does not run regularly by itself. That means that the setting to “daily” was done once somewhere in the past. Probably by you (knowingly or unknowingly).
I do not have that YaST module online_update_configuration myself (I never use “automatic” update), thus I can not look in there how it looks like and where you selected “weekly”.
Maybe we can see something in cron.daily:
ls -l /etc/cron.daily/
And please use CODE tags when posting computer texts from the terminal emulator.
