online accounts, what can i do whit that?

Hi

I have added my gmail account as a online account.
What can i do with that???
what benefits do i have?

Your “gmail” account gives you one more place that you get to check for spam :stuck_out_tongue:

I suppose that you setup a gmail account for some reason. And that reason might indicate what you can do with it.

I have a “gmail” account mainly because I have an Android cell phone, and it seems to want a gmail account.

If you are using opensuse, you can any gmail email with “kmail”, with “evolution”, with “thunderbird”, with “claws-mail” and with other clients. Or you can access it with a browser. If you use KDE, you can also setup Kontact to use your google calendar.

thank you, but i do not understand you

when i open ( gnome ) the Activities>Online Acounts ( in the submitbar at top of the screen)
the i am able to setup online accounts, like gmail, live, flickr, etc

what can i do with that

??

Okay. You didn’t mention that you were a Gnome user.

I’ve seen that application. But I don’t use Gnome, except for occasional experimenting, so I haven’t tried to do anything with it.

I assume that it is really for facebook, LinkedIn, Google+ and similar social networks.

Google calendar (for example) integrates with the Evolution calendar.
You can add in the gmail notifier extension (from extensions.gnome.org)
to give you notifications when you have new mail, and so on.

you also can use the gtalk for instant messaging thru empathy. empathy is integrated in gnome DE.

And please ALWAYS tell which version of openSUSE you use and which desktop. People may give you wrong advice when they do not know that. And you may not understand what they are talking about… And so confusion will grow >:) .
