This is terrifying, Microsoft should do the right the thing and leave the country.

EDIT: Just saw this on Slashdot, Using Linux wouldn’t even help here because they would assume you had something to hide

Agree. Open Source isn’t equal to democracy. Look at Cuba or North Korea. Both of them use Linux.

I think it’s more to the point the article points out just one more way in which Microsoft is “part of the problem”. IMHO it’s not too far fetched to conclude that a dollar spent on an MS product is a dollar spent to subsidize this sort of abusive behavior.

Linux has Google, known to cooperate with agencies such as the NSA and the FBI, as well as the Beijing government.
