Is there a way to tame the clicking speed in Dolphin? Every time I click on an icon to select it (yes, it’s set to ‘One click selects, Double click opens/runs’) it gets opened or its default application gets launched. Only way I seem to be able to select items without activating them is by dragging a lasso around them, which is mighty unproductive.
Thunar and PCManFM do not shew this behaviour: the single click selects in those programs, as it should be.
Assuming single click you can select multiples by clicking the top left corner of the icon/name this puts a + on the icon and it joins any other icons you may have selected. Don’t know how it works with double click selected.
Double-click to open files and folders (select icons on first click)
If this option is not checked, icons/files will be opened with a single click of the left mouse-button. This default behavior is consistent with what you would expect when you click links in most web browsers. If checked however, icons/files will be opened with a double click, while a single click will only select the icon or file. This is the behavior you may know from other desktops or operating systems.
Single-click to open files and folders
This is the default setting. Clicking once on an icon will open it. To select you can drag around the icon(s) or Ctrl+Right click, or simply click and hold to drag it.
On this Leap 42.2 system (Desktop, Mouse, no Touchpad) I can’t reproduce the reported issue – “Double-click to open” and “Single-click to open” both behave as documented by the KDE folks.
This behaviour is valid for both hardware (mouse) settings – regardless of “single-click” or “double-click” to open . . .
