I have two computer running 15.5, both AMD cus wt integratd grahics, and on bard sound . Unfortunately the sound des not work. I tried yast2/sound to inialise it but silence is the result. I have a US sound device on one comput and that works very wll. I have no idea what to look for. I realise “does not work” is not very helpfulbut I am lost
What hardware, what desktop environment?
There’s zero chance that people are going to be able to help without that information.
the output of lspci | grep Audio
and dmesg | grep Audio
will probably tell you what Audio hardware you’re working with.

The USB Audio is the external device that works.
(Sorry about the change of user name but my earlier account hit a blocking psge)
regarding “desktop environment” I run fvwm on X11, with xterms and emacs. Seamonkey as main browser. No gnome or kde or desktop metaphors.
