Recommend:
Possibly Tumbleweed (32-bit) with MinimalX Desktop (Uses only about same resources as running in Text “Server” mode).
13.2 ((32-bit) with MinimalX Desktop
LXDE and XFCE are good selections for “light” Desktops but I’ve found still work best with at least 1GB RAM.
When you use the MinimalX “Desktop” instead, you’re not running a full-fledged Desktop, only a Window Manager. You’ll still be able to install and run any graphical apps you wish, but your Desktop “theming” will be next to non-existent… only a bland background. Nothing automatically running in the background, but that’s now many people like it… the bare bones. So, you can still have decent performance even with only 512MB RAM if you only run one or a few apps at a time.
hello dear Tsu many many thanks -your answers are allways very good supportive and helpful.
have a great day
greetings
btw. just checked it:

The Satellite L20-183 will take 2GB RAM. So, if you are serious about using it, upgrade the RAM first. When you get to installing LEAP, refuse BtrFS, select an ext4 root partition of 20GB and install a lightweight desktop.
