So far 2 down, 6 to go. The last 6 he is favored to win in.

Curling!

He picked up his third one tonight in the 200m free-style.

Looking like he may be able to break Spitz’s record.

  1. Summer

  2. Very little, This year almost nil. No time to watch TV.

  3. Sorry, but none

:|:shame:

Make that 4 on the 200M breast stroke. He now has won the most medals in
Olympic history.

Now 5 with the 4x2 relay. lol!

Really crazy how good his team’s doing this Olympics! <:):good:

Yep. He is the man
He has a strong breast stroke:rolleyes:

Swimming
Hockey

I was disappointed in his reaction. Yea, he had water in his goggles, but
he made history with a 10th gold and broke a world record at the same time
and didn’t even break a smile. Just think of all the coverage on
commercials and sport shows for the next 4 years if he would have just
smiled at the end of the race and showed a little excitement. Instead he
was mad at his goggles. That scene certainly isn’t going to get a lot of
reruns.

That definitely wasn’t the reaction everyone expected, but seems understandable.

I guess it’s like running track with gum on your shoe.

He was just fustrated at what happened. Seems understandable, though.

I agree, if he thought he swam slightly slower from the annoyance and
possibly he believed could have cost him the race. That would certainly
get my dander up as well regardless if I had won in spite of the
malfunction. I would ease off about it fairly quickly once the victory
settled in, but initially I’d probably have the same reaction he did.

  1. Football
  2. Basketball
  3. Beach Volleyball (women’s)

When did they add football to the summer games, I would think it would
be more of a winter game. :stuck_out_tongue:

It is possible the Nigeria Vs. USA Football match I saw earlier was just my imagination since I love football so much…

Michael Phelps made history by breaking the 36 year old gold olympic record,
It was exiting to watch.

But the most thrilling one is the 100 hundred meter dash won by Usain Bolt of Jamaica.
He could have run faster and cut the record time more but when he saw clearly that he is the winner he slowed down and pumped his hand. This is the first 100 meter dash I saw that the winner is just like toying with his opponents.lol!

The last run for Phelps was definitely a good race to watch. It was very close with the Aistralians until the last leg. Was very cool to watch him break Spitz’s record. The 100m dash was also a great race, like said above. He just blew away the record and slowed up with almost 15-20 meyers remaining! Awesome events so far for this Olympics!

I just wish NBC would use an interpreter for Bela Karoli (sp?) when they use him as a commentator on Women’s gymnastics. I have to really concentrate to figure out what he says and I just can’t understand him when he gets excited.

I agree. I have to listen hard, and still I only barely get the idea of the comment. :stuck_out_tongue: lol!

Hockey - but then that’s my chosen sport to play too.

  b. Winter?

2 - Olympic watching habits
a. Never
b. A little
c. When I can or some each day

Would have been D except for the caveat below…

  d. All or almost all of the games

3 - Do you have a particular athlete you are interested in this summer? Who?

Somewhat late here, but Phelps was the obvious one as was Bolt.

My television coverage, in Hong Kong, has sucked. I have no terrestrial TV so miss out the generic coverage. I also have the ‘wrong’ subscription TV offering here, and the schedules bear only a passing resemblance to what is actually on at any point in time  Hence why I’ve watched as much as I can…

Mainly hockey, but i’ve managed to watch some archery this time.

Has to be c for me, but I would love to get tickets for the 2012 games, it has to be done when it’s in you home country.

3 - Do you have a particular athlete you are interested in this summer? Who?

No one particularly, maybe next time I’ll follow someone a bit closer, I’m sure many people will be following Phelps next time and it will be interesting to see how he can progress.
