Old love - thinkeramik

Since Suse10.3 have I always “Thinkeramik” (at that time just Keramik) as windows decorations. But with a Leap have I a problem - I can install Thinkeramik from kde3 repo, but I can not see it in System Settings. Can somebody tell me please, if there some workaround is? Is is not a question of life or death, but I like the beauty of this style.

Obviously. That is for KDE3.

I don’t think “Thinkeramik” or “Keramik” are ported to/available for KF5.

You can install and use KDE3 from the same repo though if you really want to.

Thank you for the answer. It’s a pity, In kde4 it was possible to use “thinkeramik”. Actually I don’t wont to use kde3 as a whole, but in particular, for example, “tork”, or “quanta”. :frowning:

Well, maybe someone ports it, or creates a similar decoration based on “Aurorae” (a theme engine included in KDE4 and Plasma5 that makes it easy to create window decorations without having to program a line).

Maybe there is one you like available already?
Try to click on the “Get New Decoration” button in the settings module.

You can of course still run KDE3 applications in Plasma5, just like you can run them in any other desktop.

To use KDE3’s window decorations, you’d need to run the KDE3 version of kwin as window manager though.
Should be doable with Plasma5 as well, but probably not the best thing in the world either, as it hasn’t been developed further since 8 years or so…
