Printer - Samsung M332-382-402 series connected to networked box and using CUPS server.
I don’t have a problem when printing from Abiword or Ted, but when I print a pdf from Okular (portrait format) approximately one centimeter of the image is missing from the right side of the page. However the Okular print preview shows the correct image with the missing part. When I check the properties from the print menu it correctly shows A4 paper size and A4 paper region. It looks as if it is adding some space as a left margin as the printed image is not centered.
Thanks for the prompt response. I used the above method. This time the image was flush with the paper on the left BUT the top of the image was cut off.
Now that I’ve found time to check with my home printer (a Brother DCP-7055), I’ve found no problem with landscape printing from Okular. A portrait PDF printed in landscape orientation is scaled and centred as expected. So this may well be down to your print driver.
As a quick test, try printing to file with a sample PDF in landscape mode. You should find that it is rotated, scaled and centred to fit the rotated page. I guess you could also take that rotated PDF and print to your Samsung printer in portrait mode and it should now print ok. Hopefully, that makes sense to you.
After several frustrating hours, wasted paper and ink the solution was very simple. I installed Evince and without fiddling with anything it printed perfectly. I hate this kind of “solution” since it doesn’t address the problem directly. But I needed a complete QR scan image on my train tickets and that’s done. I’ll work on Okular when I have time to waste. Thanks for the help.
