Odd Graphic Glitches

I’m fairly new to linux, I have been using it consistently for about a month now. I initially installed Ubuntu, and now I’m trying to branch out and see if any of the other distros interest me or are to my liking. However, I have a really odd problem in openSUSE 11 which hasn’t occured in Ubuntu, Linux Mint, or Fedora, and it is ruining my experience with SUSE.

I really don’t know how to describe it, but essentially when I move my mouse over various icons or menus or anything really, there is some kind of delay or bug with the graphics that produces lines on that icon/menu that eventually go away. Also, just typing right now or scrolling through webpages produces the same effect. I have a couple pictures that I am embedding to help show what I’m talking about. What can I do to fix this? I’ve searched quite a bit and can’t really find a solution. The problem occurs in both KDE and Gnome also, if that helps any.

Oh, and my system is a Toshiba Satellite A215-S4807.

Thanks for any help.

It’s a Radeon X1200, not sure about the chipset. As far as drivers, I haven’t manually installed anything, just been running off what the install configured.
