Odd email problem

Hi all, I have set up various email accounts with Google, Outlook. They work fine. However, I do have an odd issue when I have my laptop up and running which also gets notifications of my email.

Both my phone (BlackBerry Z30) and KMail are set up to use IMAP to get my emails from Google. When I receive an email, both laptop and phone get the notification, great. However, my phone will get another notification as well, in essence I get two notifications per email I get.

If I refresh the Hub on the phone, it will sort itself out. If the laptop is off, I get the normal single notification. I can get three notifications for one email, one on laptop, two on phone. It can get a little annoying at times when I get an influx of emails suddenly.

Does anyone have any clues as to why this is happening?

Why you get notices on all imap clients that there is new email, even if
the all pull from the same account?

That’s by design, nothing you can do about it - except disabling
notifications in all the clients you do not want to get them.

No, you misunderstood. I get two notifications on my phone (identical emails, same time stamps on both), one on my laptop for the same email. If the laptop is off, I get one notification on my phone as normal.
