NVIDIA restricted drivers for comp in ubuntu, same in OS 11?

In ubuntu it was easy to enable restricted drivers, even from the live CD. If there is a restricted driver for my graphics card for 3D acceleration in ubuntu, wouldn’t there be one for openSUSE? It’s all Linux, right?

How do I enable it? I really want desktop effects.

The LiveCD does not ship with any non-OSS software.
