nvidia Repositories gone missing

Hi everyone,

Some hours ago I finally made a fresh install on my desktop with brand new hardware being happy how increadibly fast it went. Then I wanted to install G05 driver packages before going into the details setting up software etc. But YaST (me being lazy) just gave me a message it couldn’t access the repository. Please don’t blame me for not posting the exact message. I went there and checked, all Leap 15.x directories are just empy:

https://download.nvidia.com/opensuse/leap/

I tried further and just found that request (can’t call it a thread, yet) in the nvidia forum:

https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/opensuse-tumbleweed-and-leap-15-x-repositories-are-missing/169612

Apparently it’s the same with Tumbleweed. It seems strange the Leap 42.x repositories are still online. Does anybody know what’s going on?

Probably it’s just some maintenance and I know, it’s rather an nvidia issue. So, this might as well be moved to General Chit-Chat. But at least everybody be aware currently there is nvidia packages available the “easy way”.

Fill a bugreport to Stefan Dirsch, the maintainer of the nvidia packages?
https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/index.cgi

Maybe he knows more.

Bugreport filed. Maybe there’s some news after the weekend. It’s Sunday night in SUSE land, after all.

Bugzilla:
https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1182831

Only browsing in Firefox does not work, curl does it:

LANG=C zypper se -s nvidia-compute
Loading repository data...
Reading installed packages...

S | Name | Type | Version | Arch | Repository
--+----------------------------+---------+----------------------+--------+-----------
  | nvidia-computeG04 | package | 390.141-lp152.8.1 | x86_64 | nvidia
  | nvidia-computeG05 | package | 460.39-lp152.34.1 | x86_64 | nvidia
  | skelcd-EULA-NVIDIA-compute | package | 2020.05.04-lp152.1.1 | x86_64 | OSS

So Repo is working.

Strange. I got the error message from YaST which couldn’t access the repository. I’ll try with zypper, later when there is time.

Something seems to be not working, though.

Yast still says:

and zypper:

Please ALWAYS include the line with the command and not only the output within your copy/paste.
Now we have output, but no idea what you did.

Hi Henk,

It was all supposed to be in the susepaste-link. But I seem to have messed that up. I just wanted to emphasize the failure with my last line. The machine is down, now. I can retry later. The command was

zypper in nvidia-computeG05

My fault:
Nvidias Server Problem.

See:
https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1182831#c6

Thanks for the information. Are server down/restore times posted in news/announcements?

The only thing I know is this one: https://status.opensuse.org/

Thanks Henk. Unfortunately it seems that the NVIDIA server status isn’t included among those listed, but that resource you’ve posted is neverthleess very useful!

nvidia packages are build on OBS, but then moved to an nvidia server and published from there as Repo.

So its on the nvidia side and we have to wait.

Working now:

Doh!
After struggling with some audio setup TV card etc. I didn’t check and just switched it off. That’s so typical.
I’m not going back upstairs. So, more fun tomorrow.
rotfl!

Oh YES! It worked. It feels so good setting up brand new hardware for the first time.
Sorry for boasting about!
