Nvidia Repo for 11.4 Gone?

Hello All,

Recently I’ve been getting Error Messages, I assume when the Software Update Scheduler checks for Updates, that the Repo for the URL below is not available and if I try to browse to it in a web browser I can see that the 11.4 folder is gone and the only available ones are for 12.1, 12.2 and 12.3…

If you remove the 11.4 and go to that page, you can see there are only folders for version 12.

Does anyone know if there is another Repo for Nvidia Drivers and such that is compatible with 11.4?

Thanks in Advance,

wow! openSUSE 11.4 flew past its end-of-life on Nov 5, 2012! and has
received no updates since that time…so, what kind of error messages
have you been getting…

well, wait: you really need to upgrade…and, you have several

-you can upgrade to openSUSE 11.4 Evergreen, all the info on that is
here: http://tinyurl.com/4aflkpy

-or you can move to either openSUSE 12.2 or 12.3

personally, i would recommend Evergreen…it is supported there
until July 2014…which is LONGER than the support for 12.2 and only
two months short of the end-of-life of 12.3!!

however, i don’t have any idea what is wrong with your system…so,
moving to Evergreen might fix it, might not…might make it worse or
kill it completely…

suggest you make sure you have a good backup of all data before
mucking around too much…

ps: i’m running 11.4, and you might find other opinions on what you
should do…so: ymmv!!

11.4 is EOL, and if you are using it with Evergreen, as it is going to
get a newer kernel, that driver would be useless.

Just check
Index of /repositories/home:/Kieltux:/nvidia/openSUSE_Evergreen_11.4_standard

Hey Guys, thanks for the replies!

Sorry for the delay getting back to you guys, its been a busy few days.

Yea, I know its outdated, and the EOL has passed, but I was hesitant to upgrade since it has been a LONG time
since I’ve had any major issues with my OS. There isn’t anything particularly wrong my computer right now I was just
getting a message, which I’m assuming is from the “Online Update” program, that the repo for Nvidia on 11.4 could
not connect. Which I’m guessing is for the reasons that you all stated…

I remember trying 12.1, a while back using a Live disk just to give it a try and wasn’t overly excited about switching
over to it anytime soon. But I guess updating my laptop to the most recent 12.x version is coming really soon haha…

Caf, I’ll switch your link in with my older link for Nvidia and I’ll see what happens, but from the looks of the page you
posted it looks like it will work just fine for now.

Thanks Again guys for all your posts, much appreciated, and I’ll do my best and try and put aside some time to
upgrade soon. Unless you guys know of any updates that are coming up soon which would be better to just wait
for them to come out in order to be updated to the most recent version…?

Thanks Again,

That’s a set of i586 packages though (for the nvidia drivers). Where can I find a x86_64 version of that?

In that link you quoted there is a folder for x86_64, here:
Index of /repositories/home:/Kieltux:/nvidia/openSUSE_Evergreen_11.4_standard/x86_64

Don’t know if that’s what you were looking for?
