Nvidia problems after update

hi, had a good working v11 install on my T61 laptop and decided to run the update app.

Looks like new Nvidia drivers were installed as i get a nvidia splash screen during boot.

Soon after the splash screen i get an error message - "could not start kdeinit4. check your installation.

Any ideas?

thanks

That’s not an NVIDIA problem.

That’s a KDE4 problem.

Is the message on a text screen? or in a window on the graphic screen?

thanks for the replies.

The error appeared in a low res. graphics window.

I fixed the problem by following the instructions found here

Congrats! Have fun!

(egad… is that copywritten? Did I just commit a faux pax? Uh oh!)

uh… in light of possible legal action… I’ll rephrase that:

Enjoy!

(aw! seen that somewhere too in context with opensuse)… uh…

May your bootings be error-free and bandwidth wide! Yeah! That’s it!!
