Hello Gurus,
I would like to build up a multi boot system with 11.3 on ASUS M2N32 WS motherboard inclusive NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI RAID controller and Marwell 88SE614xSATA connectors.
The problem is that if I built up the RAID-1 arrays (2x500, 2x1000) it cannot be seen from Suse install.
As far as I investigated the nForce driver is in 11.3, but in this case why the installation hangs (no reset button, only power off).
Sorry I cannot provide you a log, becuase the installation procedure goes to the restart, the system restarts, and Grube says error 15 or 21.

thx for all advice.
I just have a few suggestions. I would download the LiveCD and boot from it. If you can’t see your raid, then it is not going to work. There were a few issues with the kernel in openSUSE 11.3 so, you could try a openSUSE 11.2 disk to determine if the raid might be seen with an older version. You can find several versions here:
Another possibility is using the very latest kernel version might see your raid. However, you must load openSUSE onto a boot drive that is support with the default kernel. Then update the kernel for the most recent. Booting from raid might not be possible, but using it might be OK with the most recent kernel. I would try a LiveCD for 11.3 and 11.2 and if the raid is not there, your just not going to be able to boot openSUSE from a raid drive.
I have tried many installations, but the situ is the same. The install procedure is blocked, and only the green screen is shown. I am already sure this is not the problem on disk layer.
Nothing happens. how shall I get a console window? No numlock, capslock, the reset is the only button generates some response.
thx for any response except for using Redmond Blackcomb
