Nvidia Graphics Problems

All right guys bear with here, I am new to linux, but I totally the free software end of it so I want to learn how to use it. I have just installed Open SuSe 12.3 and I am trying to install the nvidia graphics drivers so I can run dual monitor setup, however I have hit a snag. I have read in order to setup my dual monitor setup i have to use Nvidia x server, but whenever I try to start it from the CLI logged in as SU, it keeps giving me an error saying that I am not using the Nvidia X drivers, however I did do the YAST method of installation of the drivers and when I try to start the server it keeps saying that the drivers are not being used please restart Nvidia x server logged in as root. Now I am running dual 560 Ti cards and I do have an I5 2500k with the integrated intel graphics. As a note when i try to look at the hardware profile it hangs at 49% once it gets to monitor. Any help would be appreciated as I am at my wits end.

This reads like hybrid technology which can be tricky to use. I recommend you review a thread such as the following where bumbelee and primus have been successfully used by some (and not so successfully by others) to configure they hybrid technology computers: https://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/hardware/484188-setup-bumblebee-primus-opensuse-12-3-a.html

In case it is the integrated intel graphics that is causing the problem, and if you do not use those graphics, can you switch them OFF in the BIOS ?

There wouldn’t be an issue with the 64-bit Nvidia drivers would there?

So it would best to disable the integrated intel graphics correct?
