Hi, I want to install driver for my Nvidia GeForce GT210M. According to SDB:NVIDIA drivers - openSUSE, there are three types of drivers. Which type is suitable for my VGA card? :\
Thanks for your quick reply. I would like to ask about your opinion. Is “The hard way” better?
Yes, but as the name implies, it’s more difficult that just adding the repo.
I would say, try the repo first
from su -
terminal
zypper ar -f http://download.nvidia.com/opensuse/11.2/ nvidia
when that’s done, close the terminal
Go to Yast - Software - Software Management
You should be asked to accept the nvidia licence/key, accept it.
Once the manager UI is up, you should see the nvida driver added for install automatically.
Accept it
When done reboot.
If it fails to boot, try failsafe option.
Ideally you should have auto login OFF
Disable Auto-Login - openSUSE Forums
I decide to install the driver with the “hard way” and it works now. In my opinion, the “hard way” is NOT hard like its name and I like to do this way.
Thanks for your help.
Good news. Thanks for posting back.
