NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GTX

Hey guys I have the nvidia GeForce 7900 GTX and everytime my kernel is updated I lose my display so I figure I’d tell you what I do to get it back, here it is:

First of all when it was first installed I downloaded “NVIDIAX86_64-177.82-pkg1” You can prob download it from
http://ftp.icm.edu.pl/packages/linux-nvidia/Linux-x86_64/177.82/NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-177.82-pkg1.run

Ok after you have it, just open the terminal, find the directory where the file is located and under root type
#init 3
#sh NVIDIAX86_64-177.82-pkg1 -q
follow the prompts after thats done do
#sax2 -r -m 0=nvidia

That’s all, I hope it helps.

Well you didn’t really discover america since everyone does that if they install drivers the hard way and everyone who installs this way know how to do it

O.k Christopher Columbus, Just remember that not everybody out there know these things. Im sure that is how you learned.
