NVIDIA GeForce 6100 /nForce 430 in Tumbleweed

Has anyone installed the NVIDIA driver for the above card under the latest Tumbleweed? It complained about nouveau and I removed it. But then it complained abount the kernel conflicting. Do I have to tell grub2 to load a different kernel?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

6 computer hours of repeated console reboots (no X, no browser) and several attempts with different NVIDIA *run installs, I got a little further when the last attempt informed that the install routine needed gcc in order to compile the driver. After yast2 installation of gcc I got this error…

ERROR: Unable to load the kernel module 'nvidia.ko'. This happens most
frequently when this kernel module was built against the wrong or
improperly configured kernel sources, with a version of gcc that
differs from the one used to build the target kernel, or if a driver
such as rivafb, nvidiafb, or nouveau is present and prevents the
NVIDIA kernel module from obtaining ownership of the NVIDIA graphics
device(s), or NVIDIA GPU installed in this system is not supported by
this NVIDIA Linux graphics driver release.

…I decided that this, my third attempt to investigate Tumbleweed, could be packed away for later.
