NVIDIA Drivers from Repository not CUDA enabled?

Hi everyone.

I manage a couple of CUDA-enabled simulation machines at our institute and tried to replace the manually installed NVIDIA driver (190.18) with a newer version from the NVIDIA OpenSUSE repository. I installed the nvidia-gfxG02-kmp-default on a OpenSuse 11.1 X64 system with kernel 2.6.27.45-0.1-default.

With the previously manually installed driver, “deviceQuery” from the CUDA toolkit finds:
"There are 2 devices supporting CUDA
Device 0: "GeForce GTX 285,
Device 1: “Quadro NVS 290”

With the driver from the Opensuse repository I get
“There are 0 devices supporting CUDA”

Is there anything to be done after the driver installation with YaST to get the CUDA support enabled?

Thanks!

Try the manual install from the NVIDIA site.
