I can confirm this. On the link above rjneilly states having found a 13.1 repository while 12.3 being gone. So I wonder if Nvidia just renamed 12.3 to 13.1 and then back again.
I hope Nvidia is cooperative, since the packages are built, maintained and supported by Novell/SUSE as their README says.

I don’t have any “official” information, but it sounds like there may
have been a critical bug discovered that’s under investigation.

I guess it just depends on if the reported issue was caused by the
packaging/build process or is an upstream issue.
This is one of the downsides of using proprietary closed-source drivers -
you’re at the mercy (ultimately) of the owner of the code.
This is not to say that nVidia’s work on a Linux driver isn’t
appreciated. It just would be easier to support (for the community and
for nVidia) if the code were completely open.
Yeah, and it was obviously far too much effort to upload a little README that would have alleviated a lot of the wasted time asking and answering questions.
Not sure what the reason or problem was but I used the 13.1 directory to install several systems, started another install and the directory was gone.
Learned my lesson, I’ll download the driver files to a local drive when they show up again so they will not disappear on me in the middle of an install!

I’m sure that if those involved were aware, they’d offer their apologies
for the inconvenience. But please don’t shoot the messenger.
I don’t believe the Novel/Suse folks have write permission there, that is an NVIDIA server and as I understand it there are a bunch of hoops to jump through for Suse to get anything put up or fixed.
It would be great to have the drivers available from a Suse server like so many other packages are but NVIDIA won’t allow that due to their licensing.
I’m beginning to share Linus’s opinion on NVIDIA gear, it just isn’t nice enough that I want this kind of hassle. I just finished updating every system I’m responsible for to 13.1 except for the ones that have NVIDIA video cards.
Still no reply to my e-mail to NVIDIA, Suse has assigned the bug already as well as the responses here in the forum so I think I see where the problem lies.
The Broadcom WiFi bug bit me on a couple laptops but the work-around got me back to a working system so they go on my hardware purchase blacklist too.
I am not looking forward to explaining why some folks are still on old versions come Monday morning.
…interesting idea…, do you think it is enough to download the 13.1 folder from the ftp nvidia site and use it as a local repository with yast?? or it will be more difficult and hard??
sorry, me too have some problems wit broadcom wifi on my laptop, could you please gives me some more infos about the workaround???
manythnx ciao :-)pier
That is what I’m planning to do, I can manually update the local repository on each machine as needed as well as carry it around on a thumb drive. I may put it on a NFS share if it continues to be this much of a problem.
Today is going to be so fun as all my NVIDIA 13.1 installs start popping up warning/error messages every few minutes as the Apper update process fails to find the NVIDIA repository. This sucks, first call came in before 7 AM local and three hours of sleep.
I’m doing that here, going to be driving across Phoenix, AZ later today to do it to a couple remote systems. The local copy of the repository on a NFS share is sounding better and better.
Good news, there are three good coffee shops on my route and I have a free “any drink” due on my rewards card at one of them!
