Nvida driver update and EFI tool

I updated the driver to 450.66 and rebooted the machine but the EFI tool did not appear (https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:NVIDIA_drivers). The driver seems to work ok. The only problem is if I log out. The login screen does not appear and Kwin crashes. I don’t log out much so it is a minor problem but wanted to shed some light of what works and not with the driver.

Do you use secureboot?

In case you miss the timeout for certificate enrollment after first reboot, you can easily import again the certificate by running the following command:

mokutil --import /var/lib/nvidia-pubkeys/MOK-nvidia-gfxG0<X>-<driver_version>-<kernel_flavor>.der --root-pw

https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:NVIDIA_drivers#Secureboot

When I installed the driver the EFI tool came up when I rebooted, so I use secure boot. The

mokutil --import

can this be done in a konsole window from the desktop, or must it be done befor the desktop is loaded? The kernel_flavor, is it default.der or the version number xx.der?

Dag R

Yes, “mokutil” can be run from the desktop.

The kernel_flavor, is it default.der or the version number xx.der?

Its this file:

MOK-nvidia-gfxG0<X>-<driver_version>-<kernel_flavor>.der

So you can use the TAB-key…

There is no /var/lib/nvidia-pubkeys. The folder is not there.

Dag R

Disable secure boot in bios.
