Nuvexport on Opensuse11

im trying to get nuvexport so i can change my .nuv files i recoded and transcoded with mythtv to a xvid .avi file. i tried doing it with mencoder but the audio and video sync was terrible. i hear that nuvexport might be better but i cant find an rpm spacifically for opensuse and when i try to add the rpm from the nuvexport site it tells me that it cant find perl-dbd-mysql even though i added it in yast. when i try downloading the tarball i can run a make install but i cannot run nuvexport because it cannot find certain files. how do i get nuvexport on opensuse 11? or if possible is there another way to convert .nuv’s to xvid’s that will not misalign the video and audio?

Hi
Do you have ffmpeg installed? I’m assuming you have been throught this
document?
http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Nuvexport#General_requirements

Have a look here;

i have been to the first link and i have all of the requirements installed. as for the second link i tried it and the mythtranscode hangs at 0%.

Hi
Have you just tried ffmpeg? Maybe a google on “ffmpeg”+“nuv” may give
the switches to use?

hi

how r u ?

did u manage to convert theese .nuv **** files ?? or still in trouble with synchro ?

i’m in the same boat …
personnaly, i tried to use mediacoder(+wine : it works well in general) to make this conversion …
and i had the same result : sound is normal and video is running tooooooooo fast !
(note that .nuv is 50fps of frame rate and .avi(xvid) is only 30 …)

well … I have no solution BUT i inform u that mediacoder let u CHANGE rate frame ;aspect ratio if u need it (and also … mux and demux)

but i’m not able to do/calculate/understand it

if u wana try only DL wine and (then) mediacoder.exe
(ok with OS+KDE for example)

let me know if u did it and how!! please

bie
