hi guy’s…after many many hrs manipulating 12.1 i have only minor irritations left to deal with!
the main one at present is how to make my storage drive mount at boot ( i used to do it with ntfs-config ) but can’t find any refrence to it in 12.1 sooooooooooooo! how do i do it please.
I’m assuming you want to mount a SATA drive NTFS partition or similar? You can edit /etc/fstab directly, or if you prefer, use YaST>>System>>Paritioner to configure.

cheer’s deano,

It’s just a learning curve. The YaST utilities can do the majority of the hardware configuration, but for those of us who are familiar with the various system files and the syntax of the configuration entries, most things can be done from a shell with a CLI editor.
If you require help with any one of the things you’re trying to configure, start a thread specific to that, and someone is sure to be able to assist. Once you’ve been through it, I don’t think you’ll find it hard at all. It is more unfamiliar than difficult.
