novell client for opensuse 10.2 and 11.1

hi

i am a network techy and have been given the task of trying to get an opensuse 10.2 laptop and 11.1 laptop the work on our network. we have an open enterprise server for netware 6.5. i would like some help to finding out if there are clients for the 2 releases and how to set them up. ALL info is welcome and WILL be tried.

not sure about 10.2, but for 11.1 there is a client in public beta available from download.novell.com. Works fine here.

Any questions regarding the client should be asked over on forums.novell.com: There’s a special forum for the Linux Novell clients where the specialists hang out.

They keep telling me to ask around for help here!

I ended up just installing OpenSuSE 11.1 on my laptop and managed to install Novell_Client_SLE11-x86_64-20081218-CD1.iso using YaST. When I start my machine it logs into my user profile but I have to manually log onto my profile on the servers. is there a way to do this like a windows machine where a user is authenticated via the servers before logging onto the workstation?

they shouldn’t do that, the Novell client is an official Novell product.

Anyway, did you check the manual? Should be similar to the description here:
