Not your usual touchpad problem...

Greetings all,

I have a Compaq Presario R3000 laptop, and I am running OpenSUSE 11.0 x86_64 with kernel 2.6.25.18-0.2. On the 9th I did my first complete Online Update, and on the 9th my touchpad began doing the following:

Every time I power up my laptop into Linux from state OFF, the touchpad does not respond at all. When I do a “hwinfo --mouse”, I get nothing.

But when I reboot my laptop into Linux from state ON, the touchpad works just fine! When I do a “hwinfo --mouse”, I get the following:

Do you have any idea why this is happening and how the online update could possibly have caused this? I have the y2log, y2logRPM, and y2log.SuSEconfig files from the 9th if you want to look at those and see what programs were installed from the update.
