not that it matters

Hi all

not that iot matters, but most of what follows is true

i have done several ftp installs, and always struggle to find the IP address and download directory.

yesterday after failing, then reading some tips, i got this to work

download and burn the boot.iso
on the green startup screen, F2 for your language, F4 for http

then in the install ‘box’ i typed

http://195.135.221.130/distribution/11.1/repo/oss/

and a coupla hours later it was done.

the IP address is 15 chars and download opensuse org takes about 21.

as per usual it installed Grub and messed up my multi-boot.

some distros offer to leave grub alone and not install it.
opensuse may do this, but if it does it is not an obvious choice.

so now i need to find my other linuxes and edit grub accordingly.

Try booting into Suse and giving it the opportunity to find the other Linuxes. Yast → System → bootloader → other → propose new configuration. Before you accept the proposed configuration, inspect it to see whether it found your other Linuxes. If it didn’t – you can cancel.
