Is there such a thing as a not live CD download? I only see live CD or DVD. So now I am trying to download the DVD version with a bit Torrent, and it looks like with my DSL connection it may be done by tomorrow morning. I am hoping there is an easier way to do this.

Presumably for an installation… no, I don’t think so. Considering the
size of the distribution (or at least the potential size if you choose all
of the options) CDs are just unmanageable so you can either get a mini-ISO
from OpenSUSE if you have a network installation source or you need to get
the full DVD for an installation. The LiveCD is good for demos but I
don’t personally have experience with installing from it (though I think
I’ve heard it’s possible to some extent).
Good luck.

Installing from the Live CD is very much like installing from the mini-iso. The
main difference is that you have a GUI for network setup, etc.
I’ve used both methods for openSUSE 11.1.
