ok guys found out how to restart.but my question is has anyone else had this problem

lol well for a noob on opensuse here goes.opensuse does not or will not work on my laptop.the software has bad checksums and fails on the bootloader so thats the end of that.all is left to say is that the pics look good and and the forum too.best wishes from the uk

What did you use to install - a live disk or dvd you burnt yourself or one from a magazine. The bad checksums means that there is a problem with the media, so download and burn again.
The restart is a problem peculiar to your pc and has nothing to do with suse.
Try downloading the live cd and try that first. If your notebook is connected to the internet, it will let you do a network install.

Did you verify the cd/dvd before you installed? Sounds like it was a bad burn.
Also please try to give your posts descriptive titles not happy is not likely to get many replies

There are a few threads in this same forum on install issues that you
will probably want to review. Make sure the ISO (before burning)
verifies (md5sum checks), that your burning software verifies the
written data, and then you can also have your installing media run a
media check before you do your installation (on the menu where you
choose to do the installation is an option). Be sure to burn your media
as slowly as possible for best results.

Good luck.
