i tried to install a kernel update but keep getting the message that i don’t have enough boot space
I googled this problem and heard that if you free old kernel images we can solve this issue.
Somebody please help…
You do tell almost nothing about your setup. And we are not clairvoyant.
Which version of openSUSE?
Do you have a separate partition for /boot?
When, or when not, what is the free space on either /boot or /?
df -h
And you can normaly use YaST > Software > Software Management to see what kernels are installed. And from there you can deinstall those you do not need anymore. For backup reasons one or two kernels are kept by YaST to make sure you can boot even if a kernel update went wrong. You can switch that off. Wait for others to help you there. But providing the wanted, partly very basic, information asked above will help.
my bad
i am running opensuse 13.2
and i am having another os as windows 8
OP you didn’t provide complete info
You may want to post output as root of
blkid
or
lsblk
Where is the output
How many kernels are installed. Post the output of
ls /lib/modules
that was a problem of keeping old linux kernels in my boot space
by googling i did manage my problems now
and i removed my iso image files now everything works fine
