Not booting up after Upgrade from 12.2 to 13.10

Hello Sir ,
I was using suse 12.1 on my machine with dual boot Windows XP Sp2
After I upgrade from 12.1 to 13.1 from the yast manager the SUSE is unable to boot but the windows is running fine .

I am getting Error message that I am not familiar with .
can anybody suggest me to overcome this…

Plz help

You post some conflicting info
Was it 12.1 or 12.2?

In any case, it was an unwise move. Upgrades are best if incremental
ie: 12.1 > 12.2, and 12.2 > 12.3
But there were changes in the bootloader type.
IIRC 12.1 was grub legacy
12.2 was grub 2 as is 12.3 and 13.1

You have most likely made some kind of mess of this during the upgrade, though there are many possibilities for failure.

Try and give some detail on what you are seeing.

I’m not aware of a documented procedure to upgrade the system version
using YaST. How exactly did you do it?

Well, is that message an state secret? :stuck_out_tongue:
Otherwise you could share it with us, perhaps it is familiar to us and
we can advise you what to do. But if it is some secret… well, then I’m
afraid I can not help much. :stuck_out_tongue:

(I’m trying a joke. But you see, we do need to know what the error
message is).
