Northstar web browser

Northstar is a minimalist web browser written from scratch in C. Its engine targets practical HTML5, modern CSS and JavaScript compatibility without embedding Gecko, WebKit, Blink or another browser engine. Linux is the primary platform; macOS and Windows are also supported.

I hope to get this web browser imcluded in opensuse, I already tried once.

Appears like advertisement.

There are possible use cases for such a limited browser experience, but not for the normal user.

No tabs? So at minimum 20-30 seperated windows? Limited media support… and some other backdrafts. And the main issue are only two maintainers. I wouldnā€˜t rely on such a browser for critical operations like banking and stuff.

Additionally, there seems to be some intended mixing of informations and links of two different browsers with the same core but extremly differing usability. The reason for the mixing and blurring is unclear.

Well, as Knurpht noted, you have Claude listed as a ā€œcontributorā€, which means that there may be issues regarding copyrightability and how AI is playing into your development process. That also may have been a factor in it not being accepted to Factory (or wherever you tried to get it included) but I have no insights there).

There’s a lot of unsettled law around that, and understandably, it is unclear what your intent is posting here.

I will say that it’s a little odd to post something that can be read as an advertisement as your first post in the forums. You may want to review the forum T&Cs (in the Forums FAQ, linked in the left nav) regarding advertising, as well as our policies around AI in the forums (the project is currently having some discussions about it overall, but the forums adopted a policy a few months ago).
