with
kernel-desktop-3.18.6-1.1.gec2a744.x86_64

any comment anyone?

You have the 32bit plugin installed, this cannot be used with the 64bit Firefox. Install the x86_64 version of the flash-player package instead.

It works fine for me, installing flash from the repos (the non-oss repo).

Why did you use the 32-bit flash on a 64-bit install? I think that’s your mistake. Checking what is installed, I see that it is 64-bit.

Yes, it might be the same binary from adobe, but there is probably control information or a different plugin directory that leads to the 32-bit flash not being seen by firefox.

It is not the same binary at all. The one is compiled for 32bit systems, the other one for 64bit.

From my 13.2 system with the 64bit plugin installed:

file /usr/lib64/browser-plugins/libflashplayer.so

/usr/lib64/browser-plugins/libflashplayer.so: ELF 64-bit LSB shared object, x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked, stripped

I doubt that this would work on a 32bit system…

hi,

thanks to all for the feedback

just retried the procedure again via yast and the 64bit version
installed and works ok

cheers

hi nrickert

it was not intended, is was an auto install by yast upon deleting the adobe
flash-plugin-11.2.202.442-release.x86_64.rpm

most probably finger trouble on my side
