Hi,
I am running openSUSE 11.0 on a 32 bit system. Some packages that i need to install from the Webpin search are listed as noarch as well as 32 and 64 bit. Which should i install: 32 bit or noarch ones?
Hmm, difficult, that one, I’d say 32bit
Andy
And for what reason? Cos i have already installed some of the noarch versions.
Can you name some examples?

noarch should work ok on 32 and 64 bit Intel/AMD systems, AND on PowerPC, etc.
32 bit should work ok on 32 and 64 bit Intel/AMD systems.
64 bit should work ok on 64 bit Intel/AMD systems.
much more at: http://rpm.org/max-rpm/ch-rpm-file-format.html
Do not remember, but how about libpng? It lists compatibility versions and 32-bit versions.
On my system:
libpng12-0-32bit-1.2.26-14.2
libpng12-0-1.2.26-14.2
One’s a 64-bit version and the other is the 32-bit version. No noarch there. Next example?
