No X11 DISPLAY variable was set, but ... (netbeans)

Hi, good day,
I’m newbie. I installed openSUSE 10.3 with x86_64. Then I want to use netbeans+java. so I use netbeans-6.1-ml-linux.sh from their websites.
When I tried to install it with

sh netbeans-6.1-ml-linux.sh

The message was prompt
No X11 DISPLAY variable was set, but this program performed an operation which requires it.

What should I do to solve this problem?

Thank you.

Have you installed a video driver after installation?

If not, refer to this page: Configuring Drivers - openSUSE.

That should help you install the driver and configure it as well.

My other question is: have you checked YaST for the prgram?

Installing the program through YaST will be much easier on you.

Hope that helps.

Hm…
My Driver is VIA. I’ve searched everywhere but didn’t find it for my spec.
Is there any other solution?

Great. Everything has been solved.
I’ve installed my driver with openchrome then when I was installing the netbeans again. Bug has found. so I removed it with
zypper rm bug-buddy
then everything goes perfect.

Thank you.

Glad you got it working.

Sorry I couldn’t be more of a help for you.

But, again, glad it worked out for you.
