Hi,
I am facing a network problem on my laptop. It is not possible to establish the wired network connection (dhcp), which works well on other computers. Only the wireless connection can be used. To try to fix the problem, I have booted from the Live CD, but there is no weired network (dhcp) again. Does this mean that there is a hardware failure?
Previously, I used a VPN client to connect to the network and the setting was configured by changing the files in the /etc library manually. In addition, the kernel was changed. But, these changes should not affect the booting from the Live CD. Am I correct?
Does this mean that there is a hardware failure?
Possibly. At least it sounds that way. What is the history of the ethernet ? Has it worked OK in past Linux installs?

The ethernet has worked well previously. 3 years ago I installed SuSE from the Internet. In addition, it worked until previous week, when I changed my working place. Now, I have wanted to configure the network to the new environment, but there is no weired network.
