Hello all,
I am sure I am forgetting something, but I cannot get video, let alone audio, from my opensuse 11.3 box to my HDTV via the AV receiver.
I have a computer and a DVR as HDMI input to a Yamaha 765 receiver. The receiver than uses hdmi to output to my samsung hdtv. I am using a ZOTAC GeForce GT 220 with an HDMI port as a video card.
Any help is very much appreciated!!
As an aside, I could probably upgrade my video card. Suggestions are welcome though I am concerned about heat as it needs to share space with a 4 port hardware RAID controller.
I have the video working. suggestions on audio still appreciated.
Okay, so the video card has native support for HDMI audio (that is i do need to make a spdif connection between the motherboard and the video card.
So what I want to do is enable card1 (the video card) for my hdtv display connected via hdmi and enable card0 (the onboard Realtek ALC889 chipset) for my monitor connected via vga.
should I do away with the vga connection and just an hdmi splitter?
I will continue to work it out, but if someone has suggestions, I would be quite grateful.
I am at a loss here. No audio with my hdmi connection to samsung HDTV from opensuse 11.3. Any help is very much appreciated
should add that I can get the test sound from the configuration gui to play through the home theater speakers by clicking on advanced devices and testing one of the numbered NVIDIA HDMI devices (for some reason I get #3, #7, #8, #9, along with HDMI Audio Output). Though I cannot get sound when playing video through Kafeeine or VLC. I am getting close I hope.
Can you share how you made it work?
I neither cannot display from my HDMI port. I just got a GT210.
OpenSuse 11.3 see it and got info about hardware.
I’m currently displaying with VGA.
Thanks for any infos.
