No video signal after change inputs

tv :lg OLED65B8PUA 4k@60hz
leap 16
7.2 a/v receiver sony an1000
gpu nvidia 5070 ti
tv connected to port labled arc on back of receiver via hdmi 2.1 cable
pc connected via 2.1 cable to port labled game on back of receiver
tv box connected via 2.1 cable to port labled sat/catv on back of receiver.

The problem that I have is that when I am using the pc and switch the receiver to another input like the tv or the tv box and then switch back to the receiver there is no longer any signal.
If I log out or reboot it will work again but something like ctrl+alt+f1 then f2 won’t work.

This reads like a typical HDMI handshake/EDID issue between the NVIDIA GPU, the Sony receiver, and the LG TV (not a Leap 16 problem).

Something to test…try connecting the PC directly to the TV and see if the problem persists. Also check whether the display still appears in xrandr (X11) or kscreen-doctor -o (Wayland) after switching inputs, and look for NVIDIA/DRM messages from journalctl. If direct connection works, the AVR is likely involved in the HDMI re-enumeration problem.

Ok I can check that stuff but I’ll mention right now since I’m here that I had a completely different receiver in the system and it did the same thing.

AI thinks when I switch away linux thinks plug is pulled and turns off gpu to save power. For some reason doesn’t re detect

I see. Well if I understand you right I am to run those commands after I switch inputs and I won’t be able to switch back to desktop to run them because there will be no signal and direct to tv will be dead too.

LG tv is notorious in disconnections in linux. I had a bad experience before. I have to switch to different LG HDMI port when the connection got lost. So far Samsung TV is the best here. I am using one 32" and one 64" and never had a problem. Samsung is linux base system. Find out if your LG has a configuration to set the HDMI if can be set to PC. In Samsung you can do that.
