no updates for tumbleweed

I have tumbleweed on my laptop and was getting updates fine until about a week ago. Since then nothing. So I started looking at the mirror sites and discovered that the /opensuse/update/tumbleweed/ directory is missing (I checked that these are mirrors that support tumbleweed). One example is http://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/pub/mirrors/opensuse/update/. So what is going on here? Do I need to get my updates from somewhere else?

Recently openSUSE release supervisors was changed, both for Leap and for Tumbleweed. I think it is a short outage for reorganization. I hope. I use Tumbleweed since the Leap release, and I’m happy user, but I feel they should ask for more volunteers, maybe a recruiting campaign.

No it is not.
First, nothing has changed in this regard for Tumbleweed, the “release supervisors” stayed the same and there was no reorganization.

The main problem that prevented Tumbleweed snapshots from being released recently is that the 32bit kernels were completely broken.
A fix has been found now apparently, so updates should happen again soon.

And another thing:

Tumbleweed is a rolling distribution.
Packages get updated in the main repositories directly, you (normally) don’t get updates via a special update repo.

There is one, but this only exists for urgent (critical) emergency updates in the case when Tumbleweed itself cannot be updated because of other problems.

This update repo is not in http://download.opensuse.org/update/ though, but it is http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:/Factory:/Update/standard/ instead.
There is a redirect in place, so you can actually open http://download.opensuse.org/update/tumbleweed/ in a browser, but you won’t see it listed when browsing http://download.opensuse.org/update/

Thank you for your reply that clarify the subject.

Just got a large update so they should be coming around

Yes, snapshot 20160317 was released earlier today. I downloaded the DVD, as it is about time for me to do my monthly install (for testing for install problems). And I’ll use the downloaded DVD as a local repo for already installed Tumbleweed systems.
