The latest version of Gnucash available in openSUSE - and I checked the
Gnome factory repo - is 2.4.0. The latest version from Gnucash was
announced on Sunday and that was 2.4.5. Admittedly 2.4.1 doesn’t seem to
have been released and 2.4.2 had a bug in Windows but 2.4.3 was released
on 27th Feb. Any reason why openSUSE seems to be lagging behind?

you seem to be under the impression that the openSUSE community’s goal
is to always have the latest release in the openSUSE repos…
my impression is that there are only so many hands working and it is
better to have something that works in the repo than something which no
one has time to beta test…
by the way, as far as i recall the 11.4 timeline, the code base was
pretty much in concrete before LONG before 12 days prior to release
(which is when you say Gnucash 2.4.3 was released…
so, please define “lagging behind” in your neck of the woods…
i think you are in the wrong distro if you wish to always have the very
latest release on your machine, without having to compile some yourself…

Q: Why do you upgrade?
A: Because the Gecko is always greener on the other side!
So said k428 in http://is.gd/Pwc3xq
I am sure it will be updated for Factory and in Gnome:Apps in the next week or so. The Gnome team has been working hard on getting Gnome 3 in shape. Patience is a virtue

I should have realised they had something else on their minds. My excuse
is 36 hours without sleep due to bad back. Whatever slipped out of place
seems to have slipped back so we’re OK - until the next time.
As suggested by DenverD, I built 2.4.5 from source but had a problem when
I ran it:
main: Error on gnc_gbr_init: Binary relocation support is disabled.
/usr/local/bin/gnucash: symbol lookup error: /usr/local/lib/gnucash/
libgncmod-gnome-utils.so: undefined symbol: qof_date_completion_set
