I have installed the leap 15.4 on machine HPZ220 with raid. the Raid is Intel and i have juste Raid0
when i try to update i got error message ,
1°) echec analyse file UUID6ef6… and so Yast did’nt see the hard disk and aid no system found on /dev/md1p3 , partition where system is installed

I have try to upload some moe module on install text console but nothing work
any idea ??

Not, not really. Can you post the output for “sudo zypper up” run from the command line?

Hi
i thing this will not answer to my question
I speak about the install /update option from CD, not from Yast
With Yast i got update without problems , the last one was for kernel
I will tell you

My French is not that good that I can immediately understand the the complete output but as far as I can see the update is successful. If I did misinterpret that can you post the output of “LANG=C sudo zypper up”?

I see you used the “Blockquote” button, the button right from it “Preformatted Text (Ctrl+E)” would better fit.

It looks like you have some problems writing English, no problem nowadays I think, use for instant deepl.com to translate things.

Hi
Yes but as i said i did’nt have update problem with yast i am talking about update with CD/DVD to 15.5 from 15.4
It was not clear in my firts post, but i explain that later in an answer
so the question is why my DD arent see during the update process
echec analyse file UUID6ef6… and so ““Yast install”” did’nt see the hard disk and aid no system found on /dev/md1p3 , partition where system is installed
regards

Okay, thanks for clarifying, so the problem is that the Yast Installer does not see your the disk/partitions you expected to see.

Two questions:

  1. Did you try the Expert partitioner?
  2. Can you share the output of “inxi -Dp” on the 15.4 system?

HI
Yes i have try expert partition but the only thing a can do is format !! the btrf arent see
I can do but i dont know this command ??
regards

Okay, two identical disks of 1T with for the Intel RAID0, Mirroring.

Yes, it could well be that Yast does not support hardware RAID out-of-the-box, have you seen it working in the past in Yast?

A possible work-around I can think off is to “mount” the RAID in the Yast installer before the partitioner runs. Mounting should be possible using mdadm and you can get the command line pressing Ctrl-Alt-F1 in the installer, Ctrl-Alt-F7 to go back.

You probably have a good reason but just wondering, why not do the online update, that would be much easier.

hi thanks for replay
it is a long story. I am a old Suse user (25 years at least) , 76 years old. I use raid on my working server since a long time , but i have change the machine 2 or 3 years ago i did’nt remember, and before this one i never had problem with DVD/update. When i try to upgrade from 14.1 to 14.4 i got the same problem and i thank it was because i have try xen virtual. so i backup and install from scratch and restore. I am oblige to believe it is not a xen problem but it is a intel raid problem. i have try to load some more raid driver in expert mode , but without success.
Why i did’nt try the online update ? because i did’nt use !! so i will look at option !
best regards

Wauw, 25+ years, that explains why CD/DVD was you default go to

For the online update, see “Performing the upgrade” in:

https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:System_upgrade

Please let us know if you need help with it.

that worse !! i used disquette !! and i was Novell addict :joy:
and at this time a very few distrib , the suse choice was because a very strong support for RNIS network cards and the yast tool witch is a best !
I have read and found the page for online update , i will try soon, i am obliged with my raid
Best regards
