Just installed PPC 10.3 SuSe. No sound. Where the hey are the faqs? Search tool here completely stumps me. Sorry for the boring question.

one of the most common solutions is just recompile alsa drivers, as also that tutorial points out.
That worked for me in one of my laptops who had no sounds at all out of the box.
Compiling alsa drivers is very easy, its all explained very well on alsa official site.
BTW dont be scared to ask for possible flames, this ain’t a flaming forum at all!! In here we just help each other and learn from each other, no fights or insults of any kind dont worry 
Thanks for the kind word. The search tool and the faq’s on this forum had me totally bamboozled. The SDB guide has been a big help and has got me on my way to figuring out about the sound files etc. Most answers in forums are about specifics and no one talks about the whole process so that people can troubleshoot other problems in the same area.
BTW, I’m octal.
