hello
i have just installed rhytmbox and i have no sound
i have also no sound in firefox and every file played in totem or every sound player.
Can somebody help me please?
Many thanks
For a sound test, please copy and paste the following into a gnome-terminal. Does this test give some sound?
speaker-test -Dplug:front -c2 -l5 -twav
If it gives no sound, try working your way through the audio troubleshooting guide to get basic sound:
SDB:AudioTroubleshooting - openSUSE
If you have basic sound, then you likely just need codecs and media players that are not crippled. One way to approach that is to follow the guidance in the stickie to this subforum area:

Thanks, while you are at it, can you also copy and paste the following script into a gnome-terminal / konsole (while your PC is connected to the internet).
wget http://home.cfl.rr.com/infofiles/tsalsa && su -c 'bash ./tsalsa'
When prompted for a password enter the root password. Please try to be accurate when entering number of jacks/plugs (for example, I have 3 i/o audio jacks on my pc). When it is complete, that diagnostic script will give you a URL. Please post that URL here.
