No sound since 12.3 Software Update

Hi,

I have been running OpenSuSE 12.3 (Gnome) for almost a year, and everything was running fine. A few days ago, I ran the online Software Update, which updated quite a few modules. Since then, I have no sound at all. Whether it is viewing a video in YouTube, running aplay or speaker-test, I hear nothing.

I have tried various debugging steps, looked at the troubleshooting sound problems page, done various google searches. But nothing has helped, and I am still stuck with a very quiet computer. I added a USB microphone about 6 months back, but other than that, there haven’t been any recent hardware changes.

My alsa info can be found at http://www.alsa-project.org/db/?f=2d2b2cba2351901c49938a9546075e661de5d7c5. I see some things that look a little strange, but I am not enough of an expert to know what to do to resolve the issues.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What repos do you have active?
Please post the output of “zypper lr --details”
