No sound in flash player

Have sound in every other app but not in firefox with flash player. Can see video but no sound. Running opensuse 11.2 X64. I figured its probably just something simple that other people have also run into?

Has it always been this way
Or is this a new install?

Just noticed it after new 11.2 install.

Are you using ALSA - xine backend -

What settings have you in System Settings - Multimedia - Audio output
check the backend tab too

Some users find that running flash player in firefox will dynamically set the PCM volume control to 0 and they need to increase the PCM volume level back up to a high setting.

Other users find if they remove libflashsupport and then restart firefox it will restore their sound in firefox.

[LEFT]I don’t recall seeing libflashsupport in 11.2
Do you?

Audio output in this order is…
HDAATI SB (ALC 883 Analog)
Pulse Audio

Backend…
Xine
GStreamer

Is it just FF Flash?

What about Konqueror or other Browser using Flash?

What about updates? Have you done zypper up in a su terminal?

Just checked, not working in both FF and Konqueror. Updates were all the security auto updates and I also updated amarok, ktorrent, and k3b to the newest versions.

Your right oldcpu, the pcm was defaulted to no sound. Turned up the volume on pcm and now it works. Weird that it was set to no sound when all the others were at full level volume. I knew it was gonna be something stupid like that.

The volume sliders = First place to check -Always!
Goes without saying

For strange and unknown reasons they can get toggled/moved and you are left scratching your head.
