No sound from Amarok 2.3.1 but VLC, SMplayer is fine.

Hi,
I have a weird problem where the playing any track from Amarok results in no sound being heard from the speakers. However, from everywhere else - YaST audio configuration, openSUSE startup, VLC, SMplayer et al - the sound is heard fine. I have no clue as to how I can go about fixing this. Hoping someone could assist me with this.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1520.

Oh, my /var/log/messages keeps recording this:

pulseaudio[4866]: alsa-sink.c: Error opening PCM device front:0: Device or resource busy

whenever I try to play something on Amarok

I’m running on openSUSE 11.3, KDE 4.5 ( though this problem existed on KDE 4.4 as well).

Thanks

Bump. Turns out Google chrome ( flash player? ) is blocking access to the sound card, is there anyway I can use both the browser as well as Amarok ?

There is no simple solution to this.
@oldcpu may be able to advise differently…
