The volume icon is off.No sound.
Other multimedia players are ok.
Well, one would wonder if you need to reload Totem to see if that is the problem. You might also want to check your multimedia status as well. Check this Link out:

If we can assume your sound Hardware is OK, then then one of the above steps should help.

I have checked with that script.
Still no sound.But video is ok.
All other multimedia is ok including vlc,smplayer,xine etc.
The sound hardware is ok too.
No sound for totem only.
When I look at my setup for Totem, I see 6 files installed, all at version 2.30 something. Totem works on my system, but it appears to be more used with gnome instead of KDE. Just like mplayer, it seems to have its own setup. My normal suggestion is to use a player that works. It would be nice if they all worked, but that is seldom the case. If nothing else works, then you do have a problem, but if you have alternatives, I would not lose any sleep over one video player not playing sound.
