martin@linux-c5sz:~> head -n 1 /proc/asound/card0/codec*
Codec: Realtek ALC269VB
martin@linux-c5sz:~>

well - what do i need to do now:

do i have to find out the right configuration

/usr/src/linux/Documentation/sound/alsa/HD-Audio-Models.txt

or do i need to need to install the package called kernel-sources:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/sound/alsa/HD-Audio-Models.txt

well if i need to run more commands in terminal - in order to find out more things bout the system. just lemme know

greetings dilbert

When that last happened to me, I got into Yast → Hardware → Sound

From there, I checked the “other” button near the bottom right, and selected “Volume”. Then I turned all volumes up to the max. That gave me sound. I later turned down the “beep” setting, where max was too loud.

I could probably have done the same with the desktop sound controls, but sometimes they are confusing.

I don’t know if that will help, but it might be worth a try.
